Celery - the most nourishing vegetable

The celery - Apium graveolens - is a low-keyed plant that can be grown anywhere in the world, it is known from ancient times for its aphrodisiac qualities. It has a strong taste, its leaves are very tasty if eaten raw and can be a nice snack with white sauce.

process of cooking. Once you know you are not allergic to it, keep in mind that celery has a lot of benefits. It is of big help in diets, being a vegetable containing negative calories. Both the root and the leaves are great in salads, soups, or any kind of meals. 100g of celery contain 14 calories. The celery has lots of vitamin C, and therefore it is good to eat when you feel weak and in need of revitalization. In the traditional Chinese medicine celery is used as medicine against hypertension. Celery juice is a good detoxifier.

How to cook it? To benefit of all its qualities, celery must be eaten raw. You can grate it and put it in salads, or you can steam it. The advantage is that celery can be kept for long time without loosing its qualities. Peel the root and pack it in plastic foil: you will be able to keep it in the refrigerator for weeks!

Teas for excessive sweating

Hot weather, stress, fatigue, obesity, menopause and some diseases are among the causes that promote excessive sweating, a reaction also known as hyperhidrosis.

Sweating may occur in the palms, armpits, feet or back and vary depending on several factors: person, age, diet, type of activities or personal hygiene. "Up to a point, sweating is a normal phenomenon. When the excessive sweating occurs, the body tries to regulate its temperature. In such situations, herbal therapy with antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects playa a major role because it reduces excessive perspiration, removes the danger of skin irritation and unpleasant smell, "says Eugene Giurgiu, Doctor in biochemistry, with expertise in phytotherapy and nutrition. Antiperspirant herbs are used both internally and externally. Here are the most effective antiperspirant plants!

Sage Infusion

The sage infusion is regarded as a good remedy against night sweating. Prepare two teaspoons of dried plant and a cup of boiling water. Drink two cups of infusion per day, first cup in the morning on an empty stomach. The second cup is drunk throughout the day. Sage infusion is not recommended to nursing mothers because it reduces the amount of milk. Treatment should be followed for at least 20 days.

Basil infusion

The basil infusion limits excessive sweating. Tea is prepared from ten dry leaves and a cup of boiling water. Drink two cups of infusion daily. In the same time, wash the armpits with the same infusion: this has a very good antiperspirant effect. Odors are gradually eliminated from the skin. Treatment should be followed for at least four weeks.

Walnut Leaves

Walnut leaves are used in a simple infusion or concentrated. Prepare a simple infusion of one teaspoon of dried leaves and a cup of boiling water; infuse for 15 minutes. Drink two cups per day. Concentrated infusion is prepared from three tablespoons of dried leaves and a cup of boiling water; this remedy is taken three tablespoons a day after each meal. A very good remedy, with lasting effects, is super-concentrated decoction, which is obtained by boiling 500 grams of dried leaves in three liters of water for 20 minutes. Treatment with the decoction should be follow for a period of at least ten days.

Lavender tea limits the quantity of armpits and face sweat. Infusion is prepared from two teaspoons of dried plant and a cup of boiling water. Also, to enhance the therapy’s antimicrobial effect added five drops of this infusion in one liter of hot water and, rinse the armpits and feet with a sponge soaked in this solution.

Peppermint is a valuable ally in the treatment of internal and external sweat because it removes the bad smell and refreshes the affected areas. Drink it daily; the infusion is prepared from a teaspoon of leaves and a cup of boiling water. For external use, prepare a Decoction from ten tablespoons dried plant boiled in three liters of water for five minutes. When the decoction is lukewarm, lightly rub the armpits with a sponge soaked in the decoction. The treatment should be repeated three times per week.

How to get rid of hiccups

Even if hiccups may be annoying or embarrassing, you should not worry. One “round” cannot last more than 20 minutes, especially if you try the "remedies" below.

Hold your breath

The easiest way to get rid of hiccups is to hold your breath for a while. Thus, the diaphragm muscle movement will be prevented for a short time, avoiding spasm and thus stopping its production of hiccups.

Dill tea

A good tea to stop hiccups is the dill (Anethum graveolens) seeds tea. Boil a teaspoon of seeds with 250 ml water for 3 minutes, and then drink this tea unsweetened.

Drink cold water

Hiccups will pass quickly if you drink with small sips some cold water or if you suck an ice cube.

Eat cumin.

A simple and very effective remedy against hiccups is to swallow a teaspoon of cumin, with a little water, without chewing the plant.
