Seven remedies against insect bites/stings

Besides heat, during the hot season we should try to stay away from insect stings. They can cause rashes and allergies. Specialist Dr. Cristina Balanescu tells us how to treat these reactions.


Insect bites may cause malaise, swelling of the bitten area, localized or generalized redness, localized or generalized itching.

  • Garlic. For bee or wasp stings, remove the needle with disinfected tweezers and then disinfect the sting’s place. Rub with garlic juice.
  • Lovage (Levisticum officinale) If you were a “victim" of mosquitoes bites, use lovage juice. Poultice relieves inflammation.

Itching skin

  • Viola Tricolor (wild pansy). One teaspoon of plant infusion to 250 ml of boiling water; infuse for five minutes, drink two cups a day, for long time (until the itch disappears).
  • Black currant, buds extract: 50 drops in the evening, 21 days per month until the itch disappears.

Hives

It manifests by the appearance of red skin wounds, the result of an allergic reaction to food or insect bites. Manifested by itching, restlessness, agitation, insomnia, burning sensation on the skin.

  • Potato juice. Cut the potato into pieces and place directly in the juicer or use the grater, squeeze juice and drink 50 ml in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • Dandelion. dandelion sticks, make a salad and eat for one week, then one week break; it can be repeated indefinitely.
