Headache is a symptom that can take many forms in terms of duration, intensity and location. It can manifest as a feeling of tightness in the forehead, the throbbing pain in the temporal or occipital areas, pain that can last from several minutes to several days.
What are the causes?
Headache can have many causes. Sometimes the cause may be just the wrong position of a person at work or during sleep, other times it can be stronger fatigue or stress.
How it manifests
Migraine headaches usually include a half-head, appear and disappear suddenly and are accompanied by nausea, vomiting, photophobia. They are usually more frequent in women and may have ophthalmic, neurological, metabolic, toxic or infectious causes.
What steps can be taken
Very often causes must be sought in the way of life or food. In this regard, some mental hygiene measures may be taken: rest, sleep correction, diet, outdoors walks. It is best to avoid strong emotions and stress. In terms of food, fat soups, canned meats, fatty meats, shellfish, alcohol, chocolate, coffee, certain spices, red wine, must be avoided. Avoid also excessive sun, contraceptives, tobacco and certain chemicals in vapor form and smoke. Determining the causes must be done with patience, and medical assistance is crucial.
Natural remedies
- Apply raw potato slices on the forehead and temples, or fresh cherry, mint, thyme or coltsfoot leaves.
- Apply on the forehead and temples fresh cabbage leaves, a little bit crushed. The cabbage juice can also lubricate the wrists for greater efficiency.
