Garlic treats ear pain and infection

Ear pain and infection can be treated at home, using the garlic. Garlic contains allicin, a natural antibiotic, the main ingredient of herbal remedies for curing ailments and infections.

Eaten fresh, garlic can treat other infections, acting as a tonic for the entire body. Pharmacies sell a lot of supplements and capsules having garlic as a unique ingredient. Their oil can be used in the same way as the one obtained from fresh, crushed garlic. If you choose to prepare this herbal remedy yourself, the steps are not complicated. Cut three or four cloves of garlic, put them in a pot, pour olive oil just enough to cover the garlic mixture and cook on low heat for an hour. After one hour strain the ingredients through a fine sieve into a glass and then you store it in the refrigerator.

According to the alternative medicine, one of the best remedies for getting rid of ear pain may be the solution contained in garlic, colloidal silver, extracts of tea tree oil, olive oil and apple vinegar. This mixture can be obtained following a simple recipe:
  • three drops of tea tree oil
  • one teaspoon of apple vinegar
  • two tablespoons of olive oil
  • one teaspoon of colloidal silver – an ingredient found in pharmacies in the form of solution
Heated, this mixture may be a good treatment for ear infections and pain. The results of this treatment will be visible within 24 or 48 hours. If you do not have all the ingredients, any combination of those mentioned is good. Oregano oil also successfully replaces the extract of tea tree.

A treatment somewhat easy to prepare and as effective has as ingredients garlic, honey and apple vinegar.

Before resorting to these remedies, easily prepared at home, be sure to consult a physician to avoid complications.

Sempervivum tectorum - very good against ear pain/infection

Does your ear hurt? It may be a simple cold, but if the pain persists and there are secretions or inflammations, these are signs of otitis (ear infection). Here are some home remedies for this condition.

Common Houseleek (Sempervivum tectorum) oil relieves pain
Poultices: fresh leaves of common houseleek are placed in a cup of boiling water; leave for 10-15 seconds, then remove, crush the leaves and apply as poultice, behind the ear.
Tincture: put 2-3 drops in the ear, 3 times daily.

Nettle tea reduces inflammations
Infusion of a spoonful of flowers to 250 ml boiling water, infuse for 5 minutes, strain, drink four cups a day. You can also wash the ears with this infusion.

Lemon juice stops secretion
Place one drop of lemon juice in each ear, every night until secretions disappear.

Chamomile, good against ear palpitations
In a small gauze bag put dried chamomile and heat it by putting the bag on the lid of a steam bath, then apply the plant, as a poultice, on the painful ear and keep for 10 minutes; do this two times a day.

Propolis tincture treats otitis
It is a good natural method good for sick ears. To get rid of the pain, put one drop of propolis tincture in each ear, two times daily for 7-10 days.

In some cases, acupuncture can be effective. Beware, however: seek medical advice before ear problems worsen.

Otitis, for example, can give serious complications if untreated. Otitis represents an inflammatory process of the external ear canal (in the case of acute external otitis) or house eardrum (medium acute otitis). It is manifested by pain in the ear and behind it, local inflammation, and ear discharge.

Horseradish – good for blood circulation

Flavored and with a "pungent" taste, the horseradish belongs to the family of condiments good for health. Here are some reasons to drink it often.

Increases appetite
The substance that gives horseradish its spicy increases the secretion of gastric juice and regains the appetite in the case of anorexic people. For a special effect should be consumed a little grated, mixed with honey.

Protects the heart
Some of the substances contained in horseradish have beneficial effects on blood circulation in the outlying areas. Also, its sulfur substances improve the elasticity of the cerebral and coronary blood vessels, reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Good against cough
The horseradish has the capacity of relieving the respiratory system and it is therefore recommended for the treatment of asthma. For coughing attacks swallow a teaspoon of grated horseradish mixed with sugar, left half a day in a warm place. The cure should not last more than a month, as in large quantities, the horseradish is an irritant.

People suffering from gastritis, hyperacidity or irritable bowel syndrome should avoid eating horseradish. In biliary disorders, food can be seasoned with horseradish, while following the doctor’s advice.

Kiwi regulates blood pressure

It is tasty and very healthy! A study done by American specialists compared 27 of the most popular fruits and concluded that the kiwi is the fruit with the most nutrients. One sweet-sour kiwi fruit offers the daily necessary dose of vitamin C and contributes to the body’s health with potassium, a mineral needed for healthy blood pressure. In addition, kiwi contains more vitamin E and lutein than most fruits and vegetables. Vitamin E is an antioxidant that combats cell damage, while lutein protects the sight.

Painkillers? No, willow decoction!

Do you have head, tooth or stomach ache? Before resorting to painkillers, try to solve the problem with plants. Plants are not toxic, but are equally effective.

Willow is a good analgesic
In Chinese medicine, the willow tree is called the ‘painkiller tree’. Willow bark contains salicin, which is nothing other than aspirin! It relieves pain, reduces fever, it is a blood thinner, and it does not have Aspirin’s side effects (such as allergic reactions, or gastrointestinal disorders).

To relieve pain, prepare a tea from 30 g rams of shredded willow bark per liter of water; boil it ten minutes and filter it. Place tea compresses onto the painful area. For internal use, take a teaspoon of willow powder, prepared from dried willow bark grinded.

Relieve toothache with wolf's claw
Wolf's claw is effective in treating pain and kidney stones crises. Place a handful of dried herb in a cloth bag, keep 5 minutes in boiling water, squeeze a little and apply on the painful spot. To relieve back pain, muscle spasms, or rheumatic pain, you can make a "pillow" filled with dry wolf's claw, and place it on the painful spot.

Blueberries reduce stomach ache
Do you have indigestion? Does your stomach hurt? Do you have diarrhea? A decoction of dried blueberries solves problems. Fresh blueberries restore intestinal mucosa in case of diarrhea, but also deal with chronic constipation. Milfoil tea reduces menstrual pain. Prepare a tea from a teaspoon of dried herb in 200 ml of boiling water, strain and sweeten with honey. Drink 3-4 cups a day for a week before the menstrual cycle.

The Humble Cabbage – a Panacea

Used especially raw, cabbage has the value of a warehouse full of drugs. The humble cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata), which we so often cook in delicious meals, was once a wild, forest plant, domesticated thousands of years ago by the people living in the Mediterranean basin.

The Celts used it both as food and as medicine or magic ingredient. Cabbage was used in the same way by doctors in ancient Greece and Rome; here cabbage was considered a sort of panacea. In medieval times, it played an important role, among others, in discovering the New World, making lengthy journeys of great explorers possible that carried pickled cabbage in barrels aboard ships. Besides food, it was used as a medicine against scurvy, during the long ocean crossings.

Despite its age as a folk medicine, cabbage began to be explored by scientists only in the last 15 years, when more sophisticated laboratory equipment has allowed the identification, in the leaves, of certain substances with anti-tumor properties, exceptional antioxidants and anti-inflammatory. In addition, surveys conducted in the early 1990s have revealed an amazing thing: the populations for which the cabbage is the traditional food, being pickled or eaten raw in large quantities, enjoys an unusual immunity to a variety of forms of cancerous disease.

Some External Treatments with Cabbage leaves and juice:

  • Small or medium severity burns - compresses are applied for 15 minutes, 2-3 per day, with fresh cabbage juice. It has anti-infective effect, helps healing faster, and prevents scars.
  • Wounds hard to heal - daily cabbage juice compresses, hold for an hour, then leave the treated area to air dry for another hour. Studies show that through unknown mechanisms (it is assumed that cabbage contains substances that stimulate the growth of certain tissues), the wound healing process is faster, reduces the risk of infection, and the scars are much less visible.
  • Infectious eczema, fungal infections - fresh cabbage leaves crushed with a hammer are applied on the affected area, and then apply a nylon top and fix with bandage or plaster. Allow time to act for 4 hours a day, and then leave the treated area exposed to air for at least 45 minutes. Do this until complete healing occurs. Sulfur compounds in the cabbage leaves have a powerful antiseptic action on bacteria and fungus.
  • Skin cancer – apply on the affected area, every day for 4-6 hours, a poultice of cabbage leaves, as the one described above to treat eczema. Many people with basal cell and squamous cell epithelioma enjoyed the amazing effects of this simple treatment, which gives results when the most learned and invasive treatment methods fail.
  • Sprain, dislocation - place on the affected area a well crushed cabbage leaf (with hammer) and tie with a swaddle. Apply for 4 hours a day. The first two days from the accident apply over the plaster a few bags of ice. Practice shows that due to this treatment, ligaments recovery time is shortened, pain is alleviated in many cases, and the synovial fluid bags that are formed are much smaller.
  • Rheumatic pain - apply on the affected area, in the morning and possibly the evening, a well crushed cabbage leaf.  Hold at least two hours. Internally, consume 1-2 glasses of fresh cabbage juice daily, in cycles of 40 days, followed by 14 days of break. The external and internal treatment with fresh cabbage has a joint inflammatory effect, slows or stops the degenerative processes, helping to regain joint mobility.
