Remedies with Honey

Virus diseases, rheumatism, bones, liver and stomach illnesses - are just some of the diseases you can prevent and even treat with remedies from beehives.

Honey: How to use it.

Ordinary honey, picked directly from the hive, is a real treasure for health. It contains lots of vitamins and minerals that transform it into a powerful natural medicine. The list of benefits brought by even one teaspoon of honey taken in the morning on an empty stomach is impressive. Honey increases calcium absorption, drives fatigue away, prevents anemia by increasing hemoglobin, strengthens your wrists and creates a real shield against colds and infections.

The most effective remedies with honey:

Hoarseness: 2 tablespoons of honey with a glass of warm milk. On the first day you take a teaspoon every four hours, then twice daily for a month.

Sore throat: gargle with a mixture of two teaspoons of honey, four teaspoons of lemon juice and a touch of salt, freshly made in the morning and evening.

Insomnia: a teaspoon of honey in a cup of warm chamomile tea, taken at bedtime.

Ulcers: three tablespoons of honey per day, dissolved in hot water, taken before breakfast and after the other two meals of the day.

Migraine: a teaspoon of honey melted in half a glass of warm water; drink it at the beginning of a migraine attack. Repeat the procedure after 20 minutes.

Tip: To be sure the honey you buy is of good quality, choose the one sold by beekeepers, if possible sugared and packaged in opaque containers.

Pollen: How to use it.

Vitamins, minerals, protein and essential amino-acids are the main qualities of pollen; it the helps in shortages of vitamin B and protein in children and it treats bronchitis, rhinitis and hormonal dysfunction. Also, pollen has the power to restore the balance of the endocrine system, and has benefits on menstruation. To regulate bowel movements, strengthen immunity and fight against stress, you are advised to keep a pollen diet for about two months, with gradual doses. The first and third week, take a scoop of pollen twice daily before meals, with a sip of water, and the rest, a heaping teaspoon of pollen.

Royal Jelly: How to use it.
A milky substance secreted by bees’ glands to feed their larvae, royal jelly was used by Chinese for centuries to control blood pressure and immunity, as remedy for anxiety, insomnia, liver and kidney disease. Royal Jelly can be administrated internally during a diet of four to six weeks; it is good to take in the morning, on an empty stomach, one teaspoon of a mixture made by adding 10g of royal jelly in a jar honey.

Warning: Royal Jelly is contraindicated in patients with asthma, because it can cause contractions of the lungs (Bronchoconstriction).
