Valerian is a plant recognized worldwide for its sedative effect. In this regard, no plant ever meets the performance of Valerian, because the valerian solves any sleep disorder. The benefits of treatment with tincture prepared from the root of valerian occur after 14-18 days of treatment - two teaspoons of alcoholic extract, diluted in a little tea; the first tincture spoon to be taken at about 7pm, and the second at bedtime. An experiment conducted in the United States on a group of 102 volunteers showed that excessive doses of valerian in the evening can affect the ability to drive and undertake other activities that require attention. Several studies have shown that increasing the dose of valerian (of the plant’s active elements) does not increase its therapeutic effect.
