Celery - the most nourishing vegetable

The celery - Apium graveolens - is a low-keyed plant that can be grown anywhere in the world, it is known from ancient times for its aphrodisiac qualities. It has a strong taste, its leaves are very tasty if eaten raw and can be a nice snack with white sauce.
Unfortunately celery belongs to a small group of edibles (pretty much like the peanuts) that can generate severe allergies. This allergen does not get destroyed in the
process of cooking. Once you know you are not allergic to it, keep in mind that celery has a lot of benefits. It is of big help in diets, being a vegetable containing negative calories. Both the root and the leaves are great in salads, soups, or any kind of meals. 100g of celery contain 14 calories. The celery has lots of vitamin C, and therefore it is good to eat when you feel weak and in need of revitalization. In the traditional Chinese medicine celery is used as medicine against hypertension. Celery juice is a good detoxifier.
How to cook it? To benefit of all its qualities, celery must be eaten raw. You can grate it and put it in salads, or you can steam it. The advantage is that celery can be kept for long time without loosing its qualities. Peel the root and pack it in plastic foil: you will be able to keep it in the refrigerator for weeks!

Yarrow tea - remedy for menstrual cramps
If you want to get rid of menstrual cramps, drink yarrow (Achillea millefolium) tea sweetened with honey. It is best to start the cure one or two days before the period, but it especially important to drink the tea during the first day of the period. One cup of tea in the morning, before breakfast, and one in the evening before going to bed, will help a lot. The day you feel the period is about to start drink immediately a cup of yarrow tea and if possibly rest. Drink the tea slowly, without haste.
